Welcome to Man-made Textiles Research Association (MANTRA)
Established in 1977 and registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1860, MANTRA is one of the leading Textile Research Associations, approved by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. MANTRA is also recognised as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.
MANTRA's R&D emphasises on Technical Textiles and extend services for new product development for corporate sector through well-equipped workshops and laboratories. Our facilities include needle punched nonwovens, spunlace technology, Coating & Lamination etc. MANTRA has been designated as Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Technical Textiles in Nonwovens and Coating & Lamination by Government of Gujarat and also a CoE for Agrotech by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. MANTRA also takes up need based R&D projects that help developing products and processes for textile and allied industries with focus on cost reduction, system upgradation etc.
MANTRA serves the decentralised power loom sector of SURAT through two Power loom Service Centres (PSC) at Pandesara & Sachin. These centres cater to the technical and training needs of the industry along with testing services, product development, technical services, consultancy etc. Both the centres are equipped with looms prevalent in Surat industry for demonstration, training and product development purposes. Our short-term training programmes are popular in the industry.
MANTRA's commercial testing services are well accepted by the industry for its authenticity and timely delivery of report. Well-equipped laboratories with latest instruments, efficient and trained laboratory staff cater to these services. MANTRA's laboratories are recognised by BIS & accredited by NABL (ISO-17025).
MANTRA is “Schedule-1” auditor approved by Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) and “Energy Auditor” authorised by Office of the Chief Electrical Inspector, Gandhinagar.
MANTRA has a specially equipped laboratory dedicated for testing of all types of technical textile yarn fabrics and finished products so also an analytical laboratory for testing of AZO dyes, heavy metals, pesticides and other inorganic pollutants as per international standards and test methods.
