Seminar: Policy Framework for India Textiles: Current Scenario & Future Prospectus at Surat, Gujarat | 🗓️ 26th November 2025
Seminars on "Policy Framework for India Textiles: Current Scenario & Future Prospectus" and "Indian Textile Exports: Navigating the Current Market Scenario" was jointly organized by The Man Made Textiles Research Association (MANTRA) and The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI) on 26th November, 2025 at SANHATI, SIECC campus, Sarsana, Surat, drawing participation from textiles manufacturing and exporting industries.
The session was initiated with floral felicitation of all the dignitaries on the dais. Shri Nikhil Madrasi (President, SGCCI) delivered a welcome address with the importance of utilization of various government policies and schemes and exports related requirements for the textile industries of Surat. Ceremonial address was given by Shri Ashok Jirawala (Vice President, SGCCI). Shri Rajnikant Bachkaniwala (President, MANTRA) discussed the objectives of the seminars and his view about importance and usefulness of these seminars.
The event featured a keynote address by expert speakers Shri S. P. Verma (Rtd. Additional Textile Commissioner, Office of Textile Commissioner, Govt. of India, Mumbai and currently Director, Product Development Centre, WWEPL, Sayan) known for his contribution in Ministry of Textiles at various respectable positions. He briefed related to "Policy Framework for India Textiles: Current Scenario & Future Prospectus". The objective of this presentation was to showcase the current and futuristic policies and scheme for upliftment and growth of textile sector of India. Shri Viral Shah (Founder & Director, Export Import Leadership Institute) who is renowned in the field of guiding the entrepreneurs related to Imports and Exports strategies presented his contents on "Indian Textile Exports: Navigating the Current Market Scenario". The objective of the session was to motivate the textile community of Surat region to think out of the box for grabbing the future opportunities in global markets which is expected to escalate from 2% current exports contribution to worlds exports to 8% in 2030.
During the session, the speakers emphasized on benefits of various government initiatives related to textile sectors and the case studies discussed during the session highlighted simple approach for exports. The seminars were aimed to raise awareness about the government policies and schemes for textile sectors and strategies and opportunities in exports for Surat Region to encourage the Surat’s Textile community to take maximum benefits of government schemes and think on opportunities for exports in entire textile value chain. Participants actively participated during the Q&A session.

Seminar on "Innovations in Sustainable Wastewater Management" was jointly organized by The Man Made Textiles Research Association (MANTRA) and The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI) on 24th September, 2025 at SANHATI, SIECC campus, Sarsana, Surat, drawing participation from environmental professionals, industry and stakeholders in the water management sector.
The seminar was initiated with floral felicitation of all the dignitaries on the dais. Shri Vijay Mevawala (Imm. Past President, SGCCI) delivered a welcome address with the importance of wastewater management particularly for the textile industries of Surat. Dr. Arup Rakshit (Director, MANTRA) discussed the objectives of this seminar and his view about importance and usefulness of this seminar.
The event featured a keynote address by an expert speaker Mr. Neeraj Mithani (Director, Aeolus Sustainable Bioenergy Pvt. Ltd., Surat) who is renowned in the field of environmental engineering and sustainable water solutions. The seminar focused on the urgent need for innovative approaches to wastewater treatment and showcased cutting-edge technologies that contribute to sustainability, resource recovery, and environmental protection.
During the session, the speaker emphasized the integration of modern technologies such as electro-chemical systems, Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs), botanical extract-based reagents, electro-coagulation and electro-oxidation technologies, etc. Case studies were also presented, sparking valuable discussions among attendees.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness about wastewater management among the textile industry of Surat and to foster dialogue around sustainable practices that are critical to addressing the growing global water crisis. Participants engaged actively in a Q&A session, reflecting the relevance and urgency of the topic.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Prafull Gandhi (Hon.Secretary, MANTRA).
